Rules:
 Prince William Horse Association, Four Winds Farm, Staff and Volunteers will not be held responsible for accident, loss, injuries to exhibitors, spectators or animals, or damage to equipment of any kind. 
*Points will be awarded as follows: 1st-7 pts., 2nd- 5 pts., 3rd- 4 pts., 4th- 3 pts., 5th- 2 pts., 6th- 1 pt.
*Riders must show in all 3 shows to be eligible for top placings in year end awards. 
Dress is casual. (Boots and breeches, polo shirt) and neat, clean clothing. NO halter tops or spaghetti strap shirts! Appropriate heeled boots and helmets are required.
*No poor sportsmanship or bad conduct will be tolerated by any participant or spectator.
*Un judged rounds will be allowed at regular entry fee.
*PWHA is following USEF guidelines. 
*Show management has the right to combine or cancel any classes/divisions if there are less than 3 entries.
*Age of rider is determined “as of” January 1, 2019.
*The judge has the authority to excuse any horse from a class due to lameness OR safety concerns.
*The Judges and/or Show Managers decision is FINAL.
*The use of any illegal equipment (bits, tack, etc) will be grounds for DQ.
*Martingales may only be used in a conventional manner.
*If a rider falls from their horse while in the ring, they MUST exit the ring before mounting again. 

ALL riders must wear a properly secured SEI certified helmet when mounted.

Any reckless and/or unsafe riding will be excused

Puddle Jumper: Open to all riders and horses or ponies. Fence height 18” to 2’ with spreads no greater than 2’. May not cross enter into classes with jumps higher than 2’3”


Novice Jumper: open to Horses or riders in their first or second year of showing as jumpers. Fence height 2’ to 2’3” with spreads no greater than 2’3”.



Low Jumper: Open to all riders and horses or ponies. Fence height 2’3” to 2’6” with spreads no greater than 2’6”.


Childrens/Adult Amateur Jumper: Open to horses and ponies ridden by Amateur riders. Fence height 2’6” to 2’9" with spreads no greater than 2’9".



Schooling Jumper: Open to all riders and horses or ponies. Fence height 2’6” to 3’ with spreads no greater than 3’.



Modified Jumper: Open to all riders and horses or ponies. Fence height 3’3” to 3’6” with spreads no greater than 3’6”.






Stakes Classes: $5.00 of each entry added to the prize money and paid out to the top four places as follows: 40%, 30%, 20%, 10%


Table II, Sec. 1 “Timed First Round”
The first round is decided by adding together the faults incurred over the course and any penalties for exceeding the Time Allowed. Horses with clean rounds or equal faults will be classified according to their time taken to complete the course.

Table II, Sec. 2 (b) “Timed First Jump Off” also Stakes Class
The first round and jump off if any, are decided by adding together the faults incurred over the course and any penalties for exceeding the Time Allowed. If the competitor has gone clean in the first round, the competitor will, without leaving the ring, upon an audible signal, commence the designated jump off course. Anyone leaving the ring before the jump-off will be considered to have retired.

Table II, Sec. 2 (c) “Power and Speed”
The first round and jump off if any, are decided by adding together the faults incurred over the course and any penalties for exceeding the Time Allowed if any. If a competitor has gone clean in the first round, they will, upon crossing the finish line, commence the designated jump off course. Time starts as the horse crosses the finish line for the initial course. Ties will be broken by time in the first round.

Take Your Own Line: 
Competitor must design own course over 6-10 obstacles (will be specified for each division) including crossing the start/finish line. Each obstacle to be jumped once, in any direction, in any order. Faults to be scored according to USEF Table ll. Winners determined by fastest time with least number of jumping penalties (jumping penalties considered first, then fastest time) more details in USEF rulebook.  




45 second rule will be in effect for every division.
